Versatility and Vision: Brady Lloyd’s Rapid Rise with Charlottetowne Hops FC

Wearing jersey No. 13 and known for his versatility, Brady Lloyd has made an impact in his first season with Charlotte Hops FC. A midfielder at heart, Lloyd has stepped into multiple roles this year, showcasing his adaptability and commitment to the team. The Marvin Ridge High School senior plays club soccer with Charlotte Soccer Academy and is set to continue his academic and athletic journey at Sewanee, The University of the South.

Lloyd’s path to the top wasn’t always smooth. He started on JV his freshman year before earning a spot on varsity for the next three seasons. At CSA, he climbed from the second team to the Academy level in his final two years. His opportunity to join the Hops came when head coach Morteza Ebrahimi invited him to train with the team. Since then, he’s embraced the challenge of playing at a higher level.

“The game’s a lot faster here. The players are bigger and more technical too,” Lloyd says. “But I like playing at a higher level. It pushes me to keep getting better.”

On May 23rd, in just the second home game of the season against Burlington United FC, Lloyd made his presence known by scoring a goal for the club, a moment that captured his growing confidence and ability to seize big opportunities.

His strengths are visible in 1v1 situations, passing vision, and strong endurance, which make him a reliable presence in the midfield. Off the field, Lloyd keeps a packed schedule. He works at Rooster’s Kitchen, referees on weekends, and still finds time to swim and shoot hoops with friends. Academically, he enjoys studying economics.

His mindset? Simple, but powerful: “Love of the game.”

His advice to younger players aiming to reach this level is to train hard, stay focused during practice, study film, and make the most of every opportunity.

With a tireless work ethic and a genuine passion for the sport, Brady Lloyd is proving himself as a promising young player for Charlotte Hops FC.
