After earning his US Soccer C and B badges, Morteza is now completing his A License. Morteza also coaches for Charlotte Soccer Academy.

"It’s a big honor to be named head coach in the new club’s first season. I am excited about utilizing my past experiences as a former pro and national team player to mentor players that aim to become professionals. And it will be amazing to bring the guys together for a style of play, match day environment and winning ways that our fans will take pride in. Can’t wait to see everyone this summer - Go Hops FC!”

Club Cofounder Matt Spear:

As we evaluated coaching prospects, we were drawn to Morteza’s pro background as it’s important that our players can learn from someone who’s competed at a high level. Plus he has a growth mindset and is extremely focused on learning and teaching - his current US Soccer A License program is very rigorous. Pus soccer is the most international sport and it’s wonderful to blend Morteza’s heritage into our staff.

Our focus for building the coaching staff is to have various backgrounds and skills to best compliment one another and to best serve in the players development and team success. Experiences like playing for national and pro teams, coaching pros, directing an Academy, nurturing top youth players to college and pros, managing college players, teaching other coaches are included.
